I was talking with another magician at a party recently and we both came to the agreement that you need to be a person first and a magician second. Magician is a vocation, not a personality trait. Mind you some people try to substitute one for the other and it don't work like that folks.
Take away their deck of cards and some guys become a two dimensional cardboard cut out. No depth, nothing to say, and is about as useful as a used prophylactic. Here's a tip, get your head out of youtube and take a look at the world around you.
This also applies to those not able to "turn off" the douchey magician personality. Some guys are just egotistical nutsacks who really need a swift kick and reality check. Card tricks don't make you better than anyone. If you really must feel superior to people just buy a Macintosh computer (No that wasn't called for. yes I had to say it.)
So the moral to my story is thus: Be cool.
